Worldwide Motor Company Ltd. (WMC), one of the ten largest importers of new cars in Cambodia, has been awarded exclusive import and distribution rights for global automaker HAWTAI MOTOR .
Mr. Peang Mann, Chairman of WMC, explained to reporters this was due to rising demand for affordable premium vehicles from his company’s middle class consumers and private sector customers from both Cambodian and foreign owned businesses.
“We selected HAWTAI MOTOR after being impressed by their growing status as a global automaker with manufacturing facilities and dealer networks expanding around the world. They have a strong history of partnership with major automakers such as Hyundai who HAWTAI manufactured a range of vehicles for markets outside of South Korea.”
But what ultimately convinced WMC of the brand’s potential was the launch of the HAWTAI A25 which was specially developed as a global SUV to compete in the fastest growing international car markets including countries in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and APAC region.
The HAWTAI A25 SUV benefits strongly from its extremely premium exterior which is equally matched by a platform created using advanced technologies from South Korea with further enhancements by a team of European engineers to integrate key components from the EU and USA.
A report by S&P Global Market Intelligence published by Bloomberg, the respected American business news publisher, highlights HAWTAI MOTOR ’s strength as a manufacturer of passenger vehicles, especially SUV’s and sedans, and also references their expanding global capacity.
Within days of the first HAWTAI A25 shipment arriving in Phnom Penh a number of purchases of the new SUV had already taken place as well as a notable increase in showroom visitors and customer enquiries.
